Dame Agatha Mary Clarissa Christie (née Miller; 1890–1976), known as Agatha Christie, was a British author renowned for her 66 detective novels and 14 short story collections featuring iconic detectives Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple. She adopted the surname Christie upon marrying Colonel Archibald Christie in 1914, a name under which she gained international fame. Agatha also wrote six novels under the pseudonym Mary Westmacott.
