The Button Girls

1938, England. Hard working Lily Baker lives with her mother and aggressive father in rented rooms in a run down part of town. Lily's mother has finally found a way to escape their awful situation. She's got a job as a housekeeper in Oxford, and Lily can go with her. It's an opportunity for them both to begin a new life. But Lily's father isn't going to let go that easily, and she lives in fear of him ruining everything she's worked so hard to achieve. Will he find them and threaten their future? Will Lily and her mother find the strength to begin all over again?
